Ive had a patella injury over 10 years ago today it hurts like crazy causing me to limp what should i take?

in 97 my patella was broken in three pieces due to accident screws have been removed since then i have been jogging as a normal routine but yesterday kneecap had excruciating pain..... what should i take besides Ibuoprofen male 32

ive been in a cliff accident 150 ft...... over 9 surgeries......... my knee has never gave me a problem only about 2 years ago when it locked up on my.... i want to avoid going to doc ........... he will most likely say "surgery again" no way

Until you can get to the doctor for evaluation, try Aleve (naproxen sodium). Also try rest and ice to reduce inflammation. But go to the doctor as soon as possible! The jogging may have exacerbated your injury, and, if so, you may need a brace or support, or other treatment. If so, the more you wait, the worse the injury can get.

Go to a bone and joint specialist. I was in a very bad wreck a few years back, and i go see him anytime one of my old injuries starts acting up. From your picture i'm guessing you were in a motorcycle accident too.

Use ice pack for 20 minutes then take off for 20 minutes.

I would look into some herbal remedies such as the joint enhancing vitamins. I'd also visit a chiropractor as they often times have alternative aides for pain that doctors won't recommend because they don't believe in them. You can also make compress from mint leaves crushed and some plain yogurt inside a damp paper towel (cold) to lay across the area of pain.

There are also many "pain" aides on herbal websites:

i broke mine about 10 yr ago also and found out recently that the remaining patella is deterioating, the surgeon says i need a knee replacement, well at my age (60) i dont want to go thru that..the pain i was experiencing was actually not coming from the patella itself, but from the joint..turns out it is arthritis and the doc suggested celebrex..it has worked wonderfully along with aspirin therapy..i found ibuprofen wasnt working for me either..you dont have to be my age to get arthritis, any injury to a joint, knee, elbow or shoulder can cause calcification of the bone and give you arthritis at any age..check with your family physician.

l have the same prob, but l am older, however, l was told about Antistax. red vine extract. No drug in it and l swear its changed my life for the better, you should see an improvement in movement and pain within 2 weeks. Good Luck. About 8 pound for 50,take 1 morn an night.
