Dx:Chondromalacia Patella Lt Knee. Surgery 3/2/07. Now possible dislocation? |
Surgery included debriment, lateral release, micro-fracture repair. More indepth than Dr anticipated. On crutches 8 wks as opposed 2 4wks. Did well post-op. 8 wks ago during the night, I rolled over & felt & heard an audible POP. Pain! Was able 2 get around, but did go N 4 an emerg visit 2 ortho. Saw a P.A. Did x-rays. removed 30+ cc's of fluid off. Made f/u w/my Dr. At that appt Dr was mystified, said it appeared 2 be a dislocation & my bones are malaligned, but needed MRI 2 verify.More fluid was drawn off @ that appt approx 25+ cc's.I was given a standard brace. Had MRI. Dr called & said I had broken off cartilage & it was floating around. He said 2 let the dust settle & then f/u.(his words)Since then I have purchased 2 more braces. I have f/u next week w/him. What should I ask him? I am very wobbly w/out brace. But the braces make my skin break out & nothing is helping that.Should I ask for a 2nd opinion? Suggestions? I am knowlegeable N this field, I used 2 B a secretary there. Do as your physician suggests but if pain continues or unusaual swelling persists the Dr. will probably have to go back and surgically excise the residual cartiledge if your body does not absorb it as I believe your physician be the case. |
