Bruised patella?

I fell down the stairs and slammed my knee into the wall 6 days ago. There is some bruising but no pain at the bruise site. the middle of my knee cap is numb unless a small amount of pressure is present in which case the pain is a 9 on a 10 scale. Could this be a bone bruise and if so how long until it goes away? Thanks in advance.

It is either a bone bruise, or perhaps even a fracture. The only way to find out would be to X-ray it. There is not to do either way, just wait for it to heal and once the inflammation is reduced you should get feeling back.

what is that

that or maybe a fracture... if you have pribs walking or bending visit a doc
otehrwise its gonna take several months... did u try ice at first? and ifit hurts too much take painkillers.. only a lilttle tho

You have probably hurt or sprained your knee. I would definitely go to a local medical center or to your doctor to have it looked at. A medical professional could recommend products or exercises that you could use to speed recovery.

bink get to the hospital darling you cannot bruise a bone and you might need proper treatment

Doctors. They are so helpful. Whenever you need them, they are usually there. So instead of wasting your time asking what we think, ask a person who actually knows about this for a living. Call a doctor. And feel better.

Sounds like you need to see a Doctor or Orthopedic specialist. You may have fractured a bone or damaged cartilage in the knee cap.
If it is just a bruise, it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to heal. If it is more serious; say a fracture, it could take 2-3 months.

might want to have that looked at by a doctor

I'd say go to the doc and ask if if you should do some physical therapy to help it heal, they are great, I used to work at an office!
