70 year old lady broken knee patella not healing after two years and three operations need help? |
In December 2004 70 year old lady fell over pavement and broke knee cap, operations: You must remember surgery is not always 100% yes there can be set bcks and problems do accure. If the surgeon operated on a 30 year old then the operation would be more sucessful as there bones are more supple and not brittle, but when olderly people get operated on especially at the age off 70 there bones are more brittle more likely to break then a 30 year old and there bones take a lot longer to heal.I work with orthopaedics and we see alot off elderly people with simple colles wrist fractures, because there bones are so brittle they healing process is lot longer.Taking vitamins do help with the healing process and eating healthy too.Any concerns go and have a chat with your gp or phone and make an appt with the surgeon who operated on you.Good Luck she needs attention of her doctor to get her to the consultant at the hospital so get along as soon as you can//I dont think they would operate again but physio can do wonderful things now i find |
