I sustained fractures on my patella and calcaneus (ankle) this cold weather makes it hurt! what do you recomme Both of these bones have joints lined with cartilage, smooth cartilage is called hyaline. When the bone is fractured, it frequently also injures the cartilage lining the joint. It heals too, but with a less smooth, durable lining, called fibrocartilage. This can wear out or become rough. This is called osteoarthritis. I would suspect this is the condition causing the ache in cold weather. Take Aspirin compounds, or tylenol. Not a cure, but rather, treats the pain and inflammation. Ouch... that's a different kind of pain than anything else, isn't it? anitinflamatories, and keeping it well covered. just wearing a pair of warm socks, and a pair of warm pants , tights, or long johns seems to help my arthritis, which is probably what you now have starting . Oh, and if you have cold floors, wear shoes or slippers indoors. |
