According to Ravi Shanker, through this kriya the mind experiences deep rest. Sudarshan Kriya provides lots of Oxygen to your brain. I think detailed study needs to be done in this area. But as Sri Sri ravishankar said "it is not the disease but the fear associated with disease causes death". So in first place Sudarshan Kriya removes the fear out of the patient. Then healing starts. If the brain gets enough oygen and rest then it is possible that it produces enough dopamine. But concrete study needs to be done.
