Abortions?

I am 14 years old. I live in Hawaii. The Law here states that I can get an abortion with out my parents concent. To avoid the fiasco with my parents, I have decided I want to get an abortion. Does anyone know about the procedure of an abortion and the after affect? Let me know, this is nerveracking. D=

P.S. The closest Planned Parenting is on a different island. A ticket would cost over 100 dollars one way. So that wouldn't be an option.

The cost of a one-way ticket to another island for planned parenting is way cheaper than what it will cost you to get an abortion, so how can this be an option?

I know you don't want to hear folks telling you to talk to your parents, but it is THE BEST THING! There is a huge communication gap between you and your parents, apparently, because there was no talk of sex and its repercussions. You are way too young to have even considered having sex to begin with; but, since you took that step feeling you were adult enough about committing the act, you should also have been adult enough to consider protection.

Unless there is something medically wrong with you, the mother, abortion is completely wrong. I put the information about the procedure on another question, it is not even worth repeating. The products of conception, which now you have, consist of arms, legs, head, body....

[edit] The thumbs down do not bother me. She wanted details of the procedure, so I gave them. Too, she was irresponsible for having sex after posting about a purity ring, which I think was a waste of everyones time that answered her because it did not apply to her anymore, apparently. She (or other teens) come here to ask advice and it is given, a majority of which tell her to talk to someone - yet she takes her own path. Well, she got herself into this, if she didn't want advice, why ask us?

The method of abortion isn't a walk in the park, its inhuman and quite sad.
I think you should research how they abort baby's before you go through with it. If its an unwanted pregnancy then its not fair on the baby, its still living an breathing, you should think of alternatives. You may think its easier, but the physiological effect later on in life will be harder.

what were you thinking getting pregnant at 14 i think you need to have a chat with your parents this is a big deal this will change your life but the procedure takes about 15Min's they will give you some stuff to knock you out and the after affect will follow you for the rest of your life hope everything works out for you

P.S GET ON BIRTH CONTROL OR CROSS YOUR LEGS OR YOU WILL BE IN THE SAME SITUATION THAT YOUR IN IN A MONTHS TIME

HUN! you need to tell your parents their christian right?? well theres some people who get abortions as late as 8 months pregnant, i personally dont think abortions are the best solution. you shouldnt have had sex in the first place and if you knew you were going to then you should have used protection, (birth control or a condom) but in your other question it stated that your boyfriend didnt use a comdom when he said he did. i think the more protection the better

you should tell your parents....your too young to go through this on your own. i'm not one to judge but since your on the web. look up all you can about abortion....the risks, stories, photos....

Call the planned parenthood hotline 1-800-230-PLAN.
Tell them where you live and ask them where you can go that is local to you. Trust me, if you are only 14, you need to get some counsel before you make this big decision.
You need to know there are other options to you. There might even be a non-biased person to help you talk to your parents if need be.

perfect proof why CHILDREN (yes you're still one) shouldn't have sex...ever heard of things like condoms or birth control pill? Since you were "grown" enough to have sex you should take responsibility for the outcome.

i do believe that you should tell your parents but, an abortion costs around 450 dollars and is about a 4 hour procedure where they numb you and litterally "suck" the baby out of you..... i had my reasons for having an abortion (my baby was going to be born with severe birth defects) but i will tell you it was one of the hardest things i ever did....i would really consider adoption if i were you it will save you alot of money and alot of depression.... oh and to everyone else who says abortion is wrong...it is only wrong in some cases.....

if you can't talk to your parents, do you have another trusted adult you can talk to about this - an aunt, cousin or sister? I know it's scary, but you really need to talk to someone about this, it will be a lot better in the long run.

plannedparenthood.org has information on their website about the procedure. but please talk to someone, don't try to go through this alone.
