My parents think I have an eating disorder and won't leave my apartment, HELP!!!!?


When I was 21 I was so happy to move out because I could finally eat what I wanted.
I'm 25, my parents came to stay 2 weeks, and now won't leave because I'm not eating well.

I eat lobster like every 2 weeks. At home, I eat fish everyday. I eat at least twice per week at the seafood buffet: salmon, shrimp, octopus, oysters, crab, and squid. At least once at the sushi buffet and eat roe and eel.
At home along with fish, I usually eat zucchini and eggpant steaks. I eat a lot of soups (couscous, lentil, beans.) I eat a lot of cactus salad with avocado and regular salads. But sometimes I don't eat have the fish.
After going to the Olive Garden with my parents, and them seeing me eat 3 bowls of salad and ordering pasta with a lot of tomato. We got a in huge argument.

My parents say I'm living an unhealthy lifestyle for not eating meat. To them, fish and seafood, vegatables are no subtitutes for beef, pork, and chicken. They will not leave until I "learn how to eat"

What to do??

I'm not obese or skinny, I'm very muscular. I swim 4 km 5 days per week. I'm on a swim team.

Wow! I don't know where are your Parents from, but they are wrong! You eat pretty healthy food, beef and pork I don't think are healthy. Maybe it is just an excuse from your Parents to stay living with you and controlling you! I'm sorry for you. You can tell them that they must to leave because the apartment's tenant told you that you can't have visitors for longer time. Good Luck

Sweety...you're 25. Threaten to call the police if they don't get off your property immediately. That, or CALL the police, and have them escorted out. They won't necessarily EVER be happy with you again, after such a thing, but...the trick, at this age, is you being happy with yourself.

I also can't see a THING wrong with your nutrition, as long as you're taking a Multivitamin with your meals. Fish is a lot leaner, and, in some cases, contains MORE protein than red meat. In fact, it's also a wonderful source of OMEGA-3, which has all sorts of health benefits.

tell your parents to leave very polietly the lady above me is wrong dont call the pigs and if they dont leave take them out to dinner and when u get home run to your apartment and lock your door and wait till they leave or do it the old fasihoined way take there stuff put it out the door and drag them out and your life style is great i wish had the money to eat like you

First....stay calm when they freak out. Take control on the situation and just tell them that you can understand why they are concerned since you are their son. You don't have to get into the specifics of proper nutrition since they probably won't understand anyway. Rather, show them that your diet is healthy because you are not eliminating any macronutrients (proteins, fats, carbs). Also, you probably don't look or feel unhealthy. That should speak for itself.

If that doesn't work tell them they can tell you what to eat when they pick up the tab.

from what i see.. i think your diet is definately healthy.
i mean.. what u eat is far heathier than eating fast food everyday.

i know of vegetarians who are alot fitter than most pple who eat meat.

also.. i need to have an idea of your weight and size.. are u obese or too skinny? how often do u exercise?

buffet are awesome, but perhaps u need to cut down on them if u are obese. otherwise, u can try to control your food intake during buffet.

eat enuff but do not overeat.

as for your parents.. maybe just put up a show.. eat meat for a day or a week until they leave.. then go back to eating ur daily stuff.

First of all, your parents are crazy! By eating fish and veggies, and staying away from meat, you are completely doing your body a favor. Just, tell them if they don't leave, you'll call the police, it's your only option now, they are trespassing on your property.

Your parents have a point. You are eating a ton of seafood and not enough grains. You are an athlete so you should be eating a lot more carbs. You shouldn't be ordering a little bit of pasta and a lot of tomatoes, you should be ordering a LOT of pasta and a lot of tomatoes. Incorporate sandwiches into your diet, have cereal for breakfast, get some fiber. It's definitely not a balanced diet, but you are eating a lot of very healthy stuff, that is true.
