Parents Having some sort of Mental Break Down?

I only have 1000 characters to work with so I'll try to explain this as best as possible. Both of my parents are having mental breakdowns. It started with my dad 4 years ago after many bad things happening including losing his job of 25 years, and many deaths in the family. He hears voices, he sees things, he thinks people or demons are talking to him. He's been hostpitalized on 3 occasions, allways to be released because he has no insurance. My mom lost her job recently after a crazy indident and now she too is acting the same way. She's hearing things, she thinks demons are attacking our family etc. I don't know what to do. I have to pay their rent, and utitlies so they aren't homeless. They can't afford a doctor of course. I wish I could explain in more detail but there isn't enough room. I don't know what to do. I'm desperate to help my parents here, please give some advice. The doctors won't help, the hospitals wont help, and I don't know where else to turn.

I've talked about that, but my mom thinks if they get on disabilty all hope is lost. She's really fighting this, and is looking for a job, but she can't get over the voices. How would I go about "forcing them on disability?" I'm not sure if they would even let them have it.

I'm sorry to hear that, I'm guessing there must be some kinda of welfare organisation that can help you, why dun you try finding out? Sorry I can't do much, I'll include you in my prayers.

I don't have any advise on how to make them better, but you might be able to get both some financial as well as some medical assistance by applying for Social Security Disability for them. You can apply initially on-line at ssa.gov. Depending on what state you live in, you might also have some state disability programs that will help.

Wow! You've got a lot on you right now. I'm so sorry to hear about your parents! Maybe they are truly demon oppressed right now. It is a very real thing. Pray for them. Turn to GOD! He will help you if you truly seek Him. He will show you the answer - read His word. Take them to church. Ask the church to help you. That's what they're here for!

God bless your family!

Get them on Social Security Disability.

The GOVERNMENT has programs that would just about help out with many of the above issues. Look in the telephone book under local government you will find numbers like Department of Social Services. And many more. All you need is to get organized and these type of services point you in the right direction.

I am sorry to hear that doctors won't help. In such a case you might want to try either alternative medicine, homeopathy in particular uses natural remedies for many causes, physical or psychological. Hypnotherapy is another healing modality that can help. It will hopefully get right to the roots of the problem, and eliminate them. The drawback is that hypnotherapy might be expensive, but not more so than hospital bills. Another possible disadvantage is that your parents have to want help, even if it is the help to get rid of the demons that pursue them. If they have no desire to be helped at all, the therapy would not be effective.
Normally I recommend books for beginners who can study the basics of hypnosis and use it on themselves, but your case appears to be too sensitive for that. A trained professional is likely necessary. Still, if you just want to find out the theory of it and how it works, look for William Hewitt's Hypnosis for Beginners.
Hope that helps. Good Luck.

ok darlin' first thing you need to do is take a deep breath.... exhale.... email me. i have a lot of experience with this type of problem. i don't want to get in to it here on the website, b/c i don't think that it will help you out. if you don't get in touch w/me, my best advice is to contact your local mental health clinic, you can find them in the county services section of your phonebook. not only does county health really work, but they charge on a case by case basis. i needed mental health at one point and didn't have to pay more than $20 a visit. so go from there, and e-mail me if you need to.
