Blood test? |
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF A CBC TEST COULD SHOW (AND HOW) IF I GOT ANY BACTERIAL, PARASITIC OR VIRAL INFECTION OR DISEASE, ASSUMING THAT I GOT INFECTED TWO WEEKS AGO. SHOULD I TAKE THE CBC TEST OR WAIT . A CBC test is a Complete Blood Count. It will show the numbers of white blood cells, red blood cells, and other infection fighting cells, but it won't show how you got the infection or disease. A CBC test is a useful tool in determining what kind of infection you have, based on what type of infection fighting cells are active. DEAR YES IT SHOWS AND GET ONE ASAP OK TAKE CARE If you go to a doctors office with a complaint like this they'll do a CBC anyway, but they try to ask you questions to narrow down your specific complaint and test for that. You said "any." No a CBC wont show "everything." Not really. A CBC is a standardized blood test doctors use to see if your count is normal. Specialized tests need to be ran to determine what disease you have and how it needs to be treated. As far as how long it has been since you contracted..they can narrow it down by when the symptoms started..but a best guess is all youll really get. Bacterial Infection: High TLC, neutrophils. Viral: TLC normal or low, more lymphos. Parasitic: More eosinophils. Malaria: More monocytes. |
