Sleep paralysis: What are your experiences?

I have experienced sleep paralysis many times in my life, no matter how I sleep it still happens. Reminds me of something out of a horror movie. I was wondering if any one would like to share there experiences .

I was also wondering if you guys have found any thing that really helps with sleep paralysis?

If you do not know Sleep paralysis is check out this link, you my have it & not even know it.

horrible. Its like being awake, but dreaming at the same time. So you hear all the "sounds" in your dream, but you're awake and conscious, you cant open your eyes, or scream or cry or even move
its the most terrifying thing in the world to me
Sometimes I lay there and feel like someone is trying to push me or roll me off the bed, someone touching me, hearing footsteps or I here this loud sound that is just terrifying and I can't move for the life of me.
After about a minute or so I finally end up managing to scream and am able to sit up...

ive become an insomniac over there years due to the horrible dreams that i have and the paralysis. If I dont sleep I dont have to experience it.

Dr's put me on 10mg of Ambien and klonopin... klonopin did nothing... ambien caused me to eat at night and see the walls move and hallucinate.

only thing that really helped me was 150mg of seroquel at bedtime.

almost all the times in my dreams, im not necessarily in my bed, but if im running or being chased or something, i start to run really really slow, and then eventually stop and that about when i wake up.. its pretty scary not being able to run when some1 is chasing u

Mine just stopped on their own. Though occasionally I get them but they don't scare me anymore.

I'm not sure if my understanding of sleep paralysis is the same as yours since I don't have dreams. It happens when I'm very tired/stressed. It always starts with me laying down on my bed with the intention of just laying down. However, I start falling asleep, but when I still awake, my whole body becomes paralyzed (I forgot, but maybe I was able to move my eyelids and eyes only). I try my best to move parts of my body, but I can't. Meanwhile, I'm staring at one part of my room, scared, and wondering when I am going to get out of it. Sometimes I hear a loud static-buzzing sound and think aliens have frozen me and are coming to kidnap me (I know, weird), and sometimes and have a difficult time breathing (very scary). Usually I come out of the paralysis in about less than 2 minutes, but the whole time I am very scared and wonder if I am ever going to come out of it and whether anyone will find me, and once they find me, if they'll think I'm in a coma or something. The sleep paralysis that I've had has made me wonder about people in vegatative states (i.e. Terri Shiavo). Maybe they are not really brain dead, but are in a state similar to sleep paralysis where they are conscious but have no way of signaling that they are. I haven't had sleep paralysis for a long time, thankfully.
