Sleep Paralysis . I need help friends !!!!!!!!?

Some times before i used to get frequent sleep paralysis.
It was a frightening experience.
Though my eyes were closed, i felt awake but couldn't move my
limbs or eyes, not even open my lips. It used to last for some seconds but i used to feel or dream of evil things like witches &
ghosts & even i heard the meowing of a cat when there was none
in the room.
HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN ??
I used to get frightened like anything.
Thank God now a days it occurs rarely.
IS IT A DISEASE.
HOW DO WE GET RID OF IT COMPLETELY ????????
PLEASE HELP !!!!!!

Hi there, I occasionally get sleep paralysis as well and after the first few times(and thinking that an evil spirit was at work) i researched it on-line.

Basically common causes of Sleep Paralysis are:

-Sleeping in a supine position (facing upwards)
-Irregular sleeping schedules; naps, sleeping in, sleep deprivation
-Increased stress
-Sudden environmental/lifestyle changes
-A lucid dream that immediately precedes the episode. Also conscious induction of sleep paralysis is a common technique to enter a state of lucid dreams, also known as WILD.
-Artificial sleeping aids, ADD medications and/or antihistamines

For me, I realise most of the time i get my "attacks" are when I sleep in an awkward position, especially when curled up on a small couch. Breathing gets very hard and i feel something pressing on my chest. I will usually shout in my sleep for the "spirit" to leave and wake up with the last word on my breath as it returns.

So don't fret, I have met other friends who have similar experiences so you are not alone! I don't think there is a support group haha but if you set one up let us know!

I would advise you to try and follow the list to determine which could be the actual cause and then go about trying to correct it.

In the meanwhile, go read up about the different explanations and even paintings of what sleep paralysis means in different cultures. I like the paintings of the Succubus/Incubus - scary but quite an accurate visual depiction of what we go through, yes?

Good luck! Sweet dreams!

No problems hope you can sleep better after this.

Good night! Report It

It's not a disease. It's a deep sleep pattern and is not uncommon.

I'm think that you outgrow this. I used to have dreams were I couldn't open my eyes. I would be in my dream and not able to see anything and my eyes would hurt soo bad. When I woke up my eyes would be soar. I don't know why. I haven't done this in a long time.

You cant get rid of this and no its not a disease. It actually happened to me before, and yes i was having a nightmare when it happened. What i did was talk to the monsters and told them to go away, i took authority of my dreams and it actually worked

do not worry

Looks like some phobea. Apply coconut oil on your soles while going to bed. Start drinking Noni herbal fruit juice which will sooth your brain.

Do not sleep very late than the usual time. For example, if you go to bed every day at 10.30 p.m., stick to the time but try to definitely sleep before 12 a.m. If you sleep late in the above manner for two or more days, the chances are that you may get sleep paralysis from the third day.

if u r a christian and believe in jesus christ then i suggest that u wear a rosary which is already dipped in the holy water of church(purified) and then sleep.i do that and then i never get 2 see any ghosts or have nightmares at all.

its not any disease. its just a nightmare which almost everybody gets.....

Not so much caffeine, sugar, scary movies or too much heat like the room being hot.
