Is sleep paralysis, somehow linked to psychic ability?

I suffer from sleep paralysis, about 2-3 times a week. The nights I deal with it, I have no recollection of dreams. Yet, every other night, I have vivid and lucid dreams. Some of which are direct interpretations, of things I'm experiencing....usually within the next week. I've always felt a connection, with the supernatural/psychic ability.....but, is there a connection, between these two?

I have sleep paralysis for years now, and I have noticed a connection between it and psychic ability. I notice I am more keen after it happens and I, as well, lucid dream. The lucid dreams seem to bring out more of the ability.

My friend suffers from this. He first believed (being open minded) that it was linked to some form of psychic ability, as he always experienced sleep paralysis with 'imaginary' people.
For example, he would wake up and wouldn't be able to move. He then saw either a man or an old woman at the end of his bed. They would then walk around the room talking gibberish, or, in some violent cases, jump on top of himand push down on him, and he could feel an immense pressure in his chest.
Apparently this is quite common, and is often related to past experiences, ie, my friend had returned from the army when they started to occur.
Different people experience it in different ways, and it can seem supernatural, and make you think you have connective abilities, but it simply a sleeping disorder, like sleep walking for instance.

We are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense.
