Pain During Sleep Paralysis?

Has anyone had pain during sleep paralysis? Sometimes I get this pain thats similar to when your arm is asleep, and I feel like I have no control over my arms, and I see spots in front of my eyes like when you stand up too fast and get a head rush and my ears ring too. A few times I have woken up and felt like I had a terrible migraine...anyone deal with this type of thing?

Eu, by no control over my arms the best way I can describe it is it feels as if someone was pulling my arm and twisting it back behind my head and pulling at the same time, like when your arm is asleep. Because I have these spots in front of my eyes I cant see, and the sensation in my arm feels like its asleep. It almost always feels like its mainly my right arm that is affected.
Spunky, when I woke up after my first episode like this, I had a headache that was mainly on the right side of my face, and my face felt like it was tingling. It lasted 3 days. Ive never had a headache like that before. I asked my Dr about it, and she said it sounded like sleep paralysis but that I just happened to have a strange headache along with it. She said it didnt sound like a stroke when I asked, so no tests were done. I am 27 and in good health, not overweight. Now I actually do not have health insurance anymore, so I could only afford to go if there was an emergency and actually HAD to go.

Not to scare you, but I had a stroke last year, and that sounds familiar. The headache does happen after a stroke. Migrains also have auras- or signs that you will have a migrane which can be all kinds of things. I would see a doctor to check everything out. The older you are the more likely you can have a stroke, overweight, and fatty diet also a source, and any heart problem can cause a small traveling blood clot that can give you a stroke or tia.

I read your additional info and I think that's very interesting. I am 22 and in good health (not overweight or nutrient deprived) and still... The hard part is heath professionals don't like to say that is the case untill they have more backing, CAT scan, MRI- actualy showing the cause. Also after a few hours it is not easily found if it was a clot because it broke up or passed through. Mine was similar to yours, the face tingling is a big sign so is the headache. All of it really so I would advise untill you find more, and since you can't see a doctor, eat blood thining foods like cayeanne powder, and I took Bilberry extract the night before I had my stroke because my eyesight was weak so I thought I would try it since I heard it helped, well I think the stroke would be worse had I not taken that the night before it's ability to streghthen blood vessels, it is advised to take for its many healing ablitities. Anyway I am adding all this simply because if you are having TIA's it means something could lead to a serious stroke, that could kill or leave you unable to take care of yourself. And since you are young too it is important to educate yourself on this matter because it could save your life. And I advise blood thining foods because if you take 81mg asprin a day for thinning, it's chemical and if anything bursts in the brain it would be more damaging to have this in your system. I hope you find out for sure what's up. I didn't expect it to fall on my plate eaither. Check out the site below just incase okay? Take Care.

i have had sleep paralysis... though it is not how you describe it. it is when my mind wakes up and my body stays asleep. since my body is asleep i cannot control my breathing and i feel like i'm suffocating. it usually takes a little bit of time till i can get one of my fingers moving and it tends to wake up the rest of me. sometimes i hallucinate that i'm drowning. it is all sorts of frightening, but i wouldn't say physically painful. sleep paralysis is apparently the first step to an out of body experience. though what the other steps are i couldnt tell you.

No sorry i have never goten taht during sleep parlaysis. I have woken up and my arm is asleep from sleep parlaysis and i have choked on my own spit during sleep paralysist but never got what you got.

You have to know that during sleep parlaysis you have very little control of your body or atleast very little. Could you go into more deatail to what you mean by "no control"? During sleep parlaysist do your (dream) arms move of there own accord?

Your sleep parlaysis sounds like it could be the symptoms of a much worse version of sleep paralysis then im used to or could signal a much worse sleep disorder....
