Do i have sleep paralysis?

Ok last year i had a wierd dream that something in my bed was grabbing on to me (it was scary as heck). I couldn't move or scream or anything...i decided to lay on my bed and close my eyes for a while...they i woke up and i could move again. o_o
This happen twice in one month, then i had it once this year. So far im okay...but i think i have Sleep paralysis...should i be worried about anything?

When you are in a deep sleep, REM......your dreams are very vivid. What you are experiencing is very normal. Just bad dreams. This can be caused by stress, eating before bed and numerous other things. Have a nice hot cup of tea before bed and relax, remember your asleep while all this is happening and when you wake your fine.

I have had that happen to me a couple of times, but I think what happened is that I was only semi conscious and thats why I couldnt move, but it was really creepy, I even rolled out of my bed once during a bad dream and couldn't move to get up off the floor, so I just went back to sleep and when I woke I was fine. But if this really bothers it couldn't hurt to mention it to your doctor.

I had never heard of it before you asked the question, so looked it up on the web and found this site: http://sleepdisorders.about.com/cs/sleep...

Sounds like what some call "the old hag syndrome" otherwise known as sleep paralysis. If you are worried about this, you should see a Doc who specializes in sleep disorders. But really, people have been experiencing this throughout humanity. It's just part of life and your dream state. If it really bothers u, see a Doc.

me too! its the scariest feeling. i get them every so often but if you wake up fine then i suppose its nothing to worry about. just a really scary dream (nightmare).

When you are in a deep sleep your body goes into a state of paralysis. It happens to everybody. thats why when you start waking up from a bad dream you have trouble moving or screaming.
