Is panic disorder a health risk or not?

Finding a dr. who understands panic disorder is truely difficult, and shouldn't be. As with my experience for over 20 years is our bp spikes with panic so we don't get good numbers at drs. appts. Then back to normal. We try to get meds that help, which we may need tranquilizers for the rest of our lives. Its for a disorder, we are not drug addicts. We are probably not hypertensives, if we get normal readings. What? take beta blockers for panic? I am drug sensitive and choose not to. We are always told panic can't harm us. They say excercise is good but panic isn't good and our bp spikes with excercise also. I hope when they all agree, its not going to harm us.

Panic disorders can be controlled with medication and therapy. Temporary spikes in blood pressure will cause no problems because the readings usually come back into the normal range. This disorder can become debilitating if you choose to let it but many, many people live successful, productive lives with this disorder under control with anti-anxiety/anti-depression medications and therapy.
