My Grandma has Pancreatic Cancer....?

The doctors say they caught it early, they say the tumor is about 6.5 cm, that seems large, is that typical for early stage pancreatic cancer. What can I expect?

Thank you (((Moon :) )))

sorry to hear that emily -but as we get older like most animals we tend to get more and more things wrong with us, enjoy your grandma whilst shes alive , love her and support her so when she does eventually die you know deep down youve helped her be happy.
That nice thought can then be with you all your life

It depends on what stage cancer she's in. Some pancreatic cancer growths can be controlled, but for the most part, pancreatic cancer is fatal.
You can google information or write down any particular questions and ask her oncologist(cancer doctor). Ask him/her what you can expect, I'm sure they will answer your questions.
You can help your grandma out by asking if she needs anything, and doing your best to give her what she asks for, whether it's a hug, or just to visit with her.

I would expect surgery and possibly chemotherapy.
6.5 cm is about 2 1/2 inches .

This question is best asked of your Grandmother or her Doctor , there are many individual things that need to be considered.

Further info on site below .

I'm sorry!!

I agree with what the first person said.

Much love to you, to her, and to all the family!!

((((((Em))))))

Tell her to take shark liver oil because i knew someone who had a brain tumor and he took shark liver oil and 2 months later at the CAT scan it showed that there was no tumor.

any time someone gets cancer it is bad,but i think being postive goes a long way.visit her as much as you can and stay postive for her if she wants to talk about it do not shy away from it and take the time to think about all the good times you and her had and believe it or not she could live a long time.i wish you luck and will pray for your grandmother.

I wish I had some advice to give, but I have none. A dear friend of mine's mother got pancreatic cancer while she was going through double blind clinical trials (my friend was a doctor at a major cancer center here in Houston) on a drug that could either alleviate symptoms, or potentially cure pancreatic cancer.

The unfortunate irony is that my friend was not allowed to give any of the drug to her mother during these trials, and her mother ultimately died of pancreatic cancer.

All I can give you is emotional support, albeit via the internet.

Hello, I really feel for you, My mum died from Pancreatic cancer, unfortunately she had it quite a while apperantley. Sounds like your Grandma may have chance, medical knowledge is getting better all the time. I hugged my mum every day and told her I loved her, and nursed her at the end . But most important I could always make her laugh, and thats the answer really, keep smiling how ever you feel, and in my mums last words " Be Happy". My thoughts are with you.

We cant help you :( If you want advice C a doc

:-(

Sorry to hear this Emily. I can't answer to your question, just here to send you a cyber hug

When a tumour appears in any part of the body, you must go to your doctor because this is not normal. Besides, there are osme other symptoms such as: anaemia, lack of appetite, constant pain in osme parts of the body, etc.
Nowadays, there are many things producing cancer and every one of us needs to take care of anything: foods, drinks, home articles, clean products, etc.
