Pancreatic cancer .................? |
my moms friend has pancreatic cancer (they found it 3 months ago)and it has already spread to her liver and splene and the doctors dont know how long she has to live......... do you have any idea how long she will live... just a guess..... My dad just passed away from pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed three months before his death. At the end, he wasn't able to eat at all and was constantly throwing up. Try to stay positive and remember ANYTHING is possible. The oncologist told my mother that her breast cancer has spread to her lungs and span and some blood vessel. Honey it's not up to the Doctor it's up to God how long your friend mom has to live. I also think you and your friend should pray to God for Guaidance. There is no guess.... it depends how aggressive the cancer is. My Mum was diagnosed in May this year with kidney cancer when it was discovered the cancer had already spread to her liver and lung. At this point the kidney tumor was 5 cm, the liver had 3 'spots' at 3 cm each, and the lung had numerous spots. 6 weeks later at her next ct scan the kidney tumor was bigger than the kidney itself , one tumor in the liver was over 12cm, and the lungs had double and multiplied. There was no treatment for Mum, kidney cancer doesnt respond to chemo and it was too late at that stage she pasted away Sept 7 aged 60. She was sick only 4 months. So there is no telling how long your friend will live it depends how rapid the cancer is and i hope for her sake its not like my Mum. xx Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer is terminal. My mom was diagnosed about 2 months ago, as well, and she is going through treatments. We asked the doctor flat out how long even with treatments, and he said an average of 3-4 months. But in the research that I have done, some people live longer (more like 6 months) and some people even make it close to a year. The majority of pancreatic cancer patients do not live past one year. unfortunately pancreatic cancer spreads very fast and is very lethal. typically people only last a few months once this happens. that's only a general statement, but from my experience on the oncology unit for my nursing clinicals they go fast. dr's don't like to put a time frame on it because it's very difficult to come up with one. there are a lot of factor's involved. good luck |
