Pancreatic Cancer?

do you know anyone that had it/has it? if so how long did they live/of have been living with it? i would like to no the average time period for living with it beacuse my 66-year-old gramdmother died from it in early feburary 2007, after living 10 months with treatment

I'm sorry for the loss of your grandmother. My dad died of pancreatic cancer about 25 years ago. He was only 54 when he died.

He was diagnosed in March / APril of one year, and he died the following January so it was 8-9 months after diagnosis, although his cancer had already spread significantly when he was diagnosed. He was one of those macho, don't go to the doctor kind of guys.

This is one if not the ugliest, quickest cancers there is. Very difficult to treat.

My understanding from reading and speaking with others is that 18-24 months after diagnosis is a normative range, although there will be examples of much variation on either side.

Most people die within 2 years of being diagnosed - that is with a mild form which hasn't spread.

If there is spread of the cancer, death usually occurs within a year

um , my sisters friends mom, had it, she lived for about 6 months after her treatment, and then passed away..
