How likely is it for an 18 year old to get pancreatic cancer??

I am white female, not obese, dont have diabetes, dont smoke. Those were all the risk factors.

# Race. Black men and women have a higher risk of pancreatic cancer.
# Sex. More men than women develop pancreatic cancer.
# Cigarette smoking. If you smoke, you're two to three times more likely to develop pancreatic cancer than nonsmokers are. This is probably the greatest known risk factor for pancreatic cancer, with smoking associated with almost one in three cases of pancreatic cancer.
Excess weight. People who are very overweight or obese may have a greater risk of developing pancreatic cancer than do people of normal weight.

It is so rare that if you did have pancreatic cancer it would get written up in the medical journals. It is rare in people under age 45.

What are your symptoms? If you eat too much fast food or fried food you might have gall bladder pain which would be indistinguishable to the average person from pancreatic pain.

At your age it is much more likely that you might have smoldering appendicitis. This pain can last for years before an event severe enough to allow a proper diagnosis happens.

good luck

While it depends on your living style, it depends mostly on your DNA. Ask about your family's history.

patrick Swayze has it, and he is a white male so the statistics are not always right. My Grandmother had it, but this is not a heriditary cancer.
