My mom has pancreatic cancer?

she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about 2 months ago.luckily they found it early but they couldn't do surgery.today they told us the results of her CAT scan and it is barely visible.my question is what is the chance that it will fully go away.also how long do you think she could live.by the way she is having absolutely no side effects to her chemo and she is also on a trial drug.

Shelby,
first - I am happy to hear the results of your Mom's most recent exam and the fact that she has little or no side effects to the chemo. Second, it really is anyone's guess as to how long your Mom can and will live. Take the time to appreciate her now, for who she is, what she has done for you, and what you mean to her.

I was absolutely touched by this and I will keep your mother in my prayers. You have a good day Shelby - thanks for sharing your concern on a very personal matter.

i dont know this answer but sorry to hear this sad news stay strong and you will beat it i have a different story thow my nephew had cancer the dr said if they didnt remove t he would die withing 2 weeks he had it in is belly it was called rhabdomyosarcama he was only 6 years old it was a shock to us all but i just want you to knnow the outcome was great he beat it was in remission hes 14 now and still doing good so be strong and wish u all the best

That's really good news, she could live a long time if things continue to go her way. After the therapy, have her see a dietitian to get a healthy meal plan, supplements and stop smoking or drinking if that's an issue.

They got it early so there is a wonderful chanc she will be with you for many many years to come. Sounds like she is doing great! Don't fill your lives with waiting for death. Fill your lives, with everyone you have relationships, with LIFE.

Nobody can answer this for you. I can tell you that pancreatic cancer is extremely aggressive. I am glad her chemo is going well. And take Gerry D's advice. Make memories with Mom now. Enjoy Mom now. Count every day as a blessing.

Have they told you what phase she is in right now? That is AWESOME that the tumor is so small now! I am SO happy for her. She will have to be scanned again to make sure it keeps getting smaller or disappears. Also, she will have to have scans for a good while in the rys to come to check for any reoccurrence.
