Is it pancreatic cancer?

My father was diagnosed for CA19.9 and the reading was 1975. Doctor said it was very high and could be pancreatic cancer looking at other sysmptos like loss of appetite. He had back pain earlier but now for more than 2 months, he doen't have back or abdominal pain.
When did EUS,CT Scan, all tests could not give a confirmed report whether it is malignancy. Still it is not clear whether it's malignancy. We stopped getting him tested again and again as it only leads to disappointment for not having firm result, at the same time gives hope that he's ok.
Now, since he last saw his weight before 2 months, the weight has reduced from 77 to 74 kgs. Also he's complaining about loss of appetite now.
But most importantly and thankfully, he doesn't have any pains.
Pls advise what to do. He's fed up of diagnosis and doesn't want to go for it. I am very much worried about him. He's 64 yrs old now.
Pls tell me what should I do and what should I conclude. I'm terribly worried and sad.

Thanks Tracy S for your splendid answer which i'm gonna rate the best for sure. Problem is we've had so many second opinions and 3 biopsies done to no avail. Chemotheorapy, one doctor says is great injustice if cancer is not diagnosed. Moreover, for a healthy person (without pains) it'll be worse if chemotherapy effects adversly.
Which one is best biopsy procedure in view of faliure of EUS in my father's case.

Pancreatic cancer is hard to diagnose because it presents similarly to a variety of other disorders like diabetes. Additionally, the location of the pancreas makes biopsies and other procedures difficult as well.

In the meantime, your dad should lay off the alcohol if he drinks (a major contributor to pancreatitis), try to get some daily aerobic exercise, drink lots of water, and eat regular meals (perhaps not a full meal if he's experiencing loss of apetite, but eating something at regular intervals and not something laden with sugar like a candy bar).

If it turns out that your dad does have cancer, the typical treatment for pancreatic cancer is a surgical removal called Whipple pancreaticoduodenectomy. This procedure involves partial removal of the stomach, complete removal of the gallbladder, a bile duct, head of the pancreas, portions of the small intestine, and regional lymph nodes. In some instances, the entire pancreas must be removed. When the entire cancer cannot be removed, the surgery is coupled with chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy for prevention and/or management of symptoms.

Given your fathers relative early age and advances in medical science, there's no reason for him to quit now. After all, pancreatitis is manageable, but it has to be diagnosed first. Do whatever it takes to convince him to see specialists, second opinions, etc until you get a definitive diagnosis.

If I am hearing you correctly, the medical doctors are letting you down. While natural alternatives are not a replacement, you may wish to begin to consider some. Below are some links that may help you.

Best of luck and good health!

Have you talked with your dad about this? What does he really want?
Worst case it is cancer, and I won't lie to you pancreatic has some really crappy survival rates even with the best treatments. If it is, would your dad want to have the chemo/radiation/surgery for it?
No one can tell your family what is best. You guys need to get a time to sit down and talk about it all, voice your worries to your dad. In the end it is his choice on what he wants done with his body.
If he chooses to figure out what this is you need to be agressive about getting on the Drs case- and you might need to get a different one if they keep letting you down. Perhaps demand a referal to an oncology (cancer) dr. They will have more knowledge to figure out if it is or is not cancer
Good luck
