My mom has AML. I think M5. She wouldnt tell. She is on palliative care. Her WBC decreased from 100 to 20 then further went down to 2.5 after chemo (maybe salvage chemo). Then it went up again to 15 but now she is experiencing bone pain a day later after she had blood in her urine. She had reached 100 WBC before and thats mostly blast. She had pain in joints but it is not as severe like this one. The blast count is only 11 but now she have pain at the bone of her left leg more severe than what she experience when its like 90 . She can barely walk. Is it possible that the blast isnt as low as we think and it mostly reside in her left legs? She is experiencing the bone and joint pain because the marrow is packed full of leukemia cells because of how quickly the marrow is producing them. THat many cells stuffed in there is whats causing the pain. The counts you are giving I am guessing are based on cbc. The bone marrow biopsy would show that the majority of the marrow is blast cells. |
