Painkillers???

I get really bad headaches often usually caused by stress, so i take painkillers(excedrin, tylenol, etc.). I get them alot and sometimes they can last the whole day or longer. I have been dealing with alot of stress and depression, and i have to take sleeping pills(tylenol pm). And now even when i dont have a headache i take them just for the heck of it. I've been feeling really weird lately like, cold sweat, shortness of breath, chest pain, i feel weak, and i sleep alot. advice please.

STOP TAKING THEM SIR. go see a doctor really you need to cut back you can cause severe damage to your liver and stuff just chill out try other ways to calm your headache cold rags warm compresses. and for goodness sakes go see a doctor

Get rid of the drugs and go see a doctor. Learn how to deal with your stress. Painkillers and sleeping pills are just a band aid solution.

First off...SEE YOUR DOCTOR. There could be a thousand reasons for your symptoms from lack of sleep to depression to Lupus. There is no way anyone in here can help to diagnose you, just give you ancedotal evidence of their own signs and symptoms. With symptoms like chest pain and shortness of breath...why are you waiting to see a doctor?

You should not depend on answers here. See a physician immediatly.

If you have time off, like a week or so, just stop doing them. You need time off though as you will be in detox as if you were taking meth. Especially if you were taking vikadin. After a week of no pain killers your body will be happy. Go to a doctor and find out why you have headaches and then you can fix it more safely.

You need to see a doctor ASAP.

"... cold sweat, shortness of breath, chest pain, i feel weak, and i sleep alot."

These are not good symptoms.

If you've been taking painkillers for a while, you could be experiencing the toxic side effects of them. Like liver failure, respiratory depression. These things are nothing to fool with. See your docotr immediately, especially if you are experiencing chest pain.

Too many painkillers is pretty bad for you, kills your liver and whatnot, but that might not be your problem. just try to cut back, try yoga maybe? and other stress relief techniques, stuff like that, a counselor or psychologist would probably be able to help you better. Sleeping pills always screw with your emotions and sleeping patterns, because you don't get rested if you're using sleep aides. and they can have some other bad side effects, just check with a doctor or psychologist, they'll probably be able to tell you what's up.

See a doctor if you feel depressed, it's nothing to mess with. For your headaches , try this: Grab the spot of meat where your thumb and first finger meet with the first finger and thumb of your other hand and squeeze fairly hard for 30 seconds to a minute. Sounds unbelievable, but this will usually cure a headache. Give it a try.

Sounds a lot like a panic attack. Talk to your Dr about the chest pain and shortness of breath. Look up panic attacks on webmd... see if you fit the description. There are meds that can help. Good luck, and try this: breath in the color peach....slowly...then breath out the color green.... it will relax you. "In with the peach, out with the green".

It sounds to me like you just need to take a break with life. I have had manic depression for years and have had the same experiences. I learned along the way, that stress takes a huge toll on your physical health. My best advice would maybe to get some counseling, take things slowly and get plenty of sleep. Once you can get your troubles mended, and perhaps see a psychiatrist, the pain will go away. You should also see your family doctor, especially if the pain is that bad. Painkillers are a temporary relief, but the best thing to do is go to the core of the problems and whats causing this. I know all of that is easier said then done, but it is well worth it. The pain most not likely due to your body, just your stress level. I hope you get well soon.

Sounds like classic depression and possible withdrawals to me.

HEADACHES (i get the stress headaches so bad i know what you mean) , chest pain, stress, trouble sleeping, shortness of breath, cold sweat......sounds just like generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). i suggest seeing your doctor and telling him whats going on.

ps...i would slow down on the pain relievers they are bad for your liver

when you get a headache, instead of taking painkillers try the following:

1) with your thumb and forefinger of one hand squeeze the pressure point in between the forfinger and thumb on your other hand and rub between your fingers in samll circular motion do this on hands.

2) if you are at take a warm shower or soakl in the bath then try sleeping

3) find something that will help you destress like sport or a
massage or whatever works for you, I do karate.

sleeping is part of depression so I would go to a Gp and ask him/ her to asses you for depression and then if they think that you are depressed I would take the medication they reuire you take and go get some counselling.

hope that helps.
