Painkillers and heating pad are NOT HELPING CRAMPS!!!!? |
I got my period LAST saturday, not yesterday and it has been gone for a few days now. Now i am cramping horribly and heating pad and painkillers arent helping. I am on birth control pills. My periods are usually bad, so I only have my period 4 times a year. THANK GOD Go to an Urgent Care center (more cost effective than ER) and see a doctor. You should no longer be cramping and never should the pain be so bad that you're having break through on pain killers!!!! Are you passing larger clots than usual? Or cramping more than usual... or more severly than what you are used to? Try crawling around on the floor. I know it sounds strange, but it really does work. You might have what's called endometriosis which causes cramps so bad that painkillers don't work and you often feel as if you can't get out of bed. I can't imagine why you would have cramps after your period is gone. I would also recommend going to an urgent care center as the others before me have said. You might need to put on a pill for endometriosis or birth control pills. B.C. pills can relieve cramps and make your periods lighter. Sounds similar to a condition I had years ago. The excruciating pain didn't begin until my period was nearly over. Wound up in the hospital, with something my doctor diagnosed as PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease). If you are having them daily, then there has to be something more the Neurologist can do for prevention. Or perhaps, as mentioned, you haven't gotten to the cause yet! I have cluster migrain... Are you nuts!!!There are little kid on this site,dont talk about DRUGS! ...well that depends on the kind of that pain killer, well if you meant something like paracetamol or asperin those stop the pain through inhibiting some enzymes responsible for inflammation(that has ... when you say painkillers, im guessing that you mean opiates, and they are addicting because they block dopamine receptors from reuptaking dopamine in the brain, causing for there to be more dopamin... if it was a problem from the medication you dr would have more than likely knew about it. but some drs do make mistakes. but it sounds like a panic attack. ...Get your wife to a pain clinic-- preferrably one where the pain management doc is a neurologist. I promise that they will work with your wifde and find the medications that work best for her pain, ... any painkillers should not have a negative affect on your pill, if you are in pain you need to take them.
