Painkillers at work? |
I have a herniated disc in my lower back and am on painkillers. Specifically tramadol. How do I get to feeling less drowsy and get through my day feeling more like a normal person? Try taking Tylenol or Ibuprofen during working hours and Tramadol while at home, or bedtime, if you can tolerate it. Tramadol is supposed to be less likely to cause drowsiness than say Vicodin or Darvocet, also as your tolerance goes up, you should be less drowsy as well. Go and get that disc taken care of so you do not have to be on painkillers long term, because soon the Tramadol wont cut it and you will have to move up to something stronger...it is a neverending cycle. Good luck! Tramadol hav an effect on hypothalamus so ask ur doctor to prescrib some other than tramadol i think aceclofenac does well in almost conditions. just discuss and let the doctor decide it. I'm taking Tramadol for a torn muscle in my knee and one in my thigh. It's hard to function on a full dose because it is too strong. I take 1/2 dose in the morning an a full dose before bedtime. You may have to substitue the mid-day dose with Extra Strength Tylenol. I really think your medication may be a bit too strong for you. Look Tramadol up on the internet and see what the lowest strength dosage is and you may find that the 1/2 pill will work as well as a whole one but with less drowsiness. loritabs ask for them they will work the best |
