Withdrawal from prescription painkillers?

i've been on prescription painkillers due to minor surgery. i have been taking them for a week & today is the last of my meds. should i be concerned about withdrawal symptoms?

I doubt it, but it truly depends on what kind of meds you were taking. For example, Vicodin (hyrdocodone) is much less harmful than say Oxycontin (a synthetic form of opiate very close to heroin). If it is as you say a minor surgery, I would be willing to bet you were taking Vicodin and that your "withdrawals" will be present, though minor. You may feel ill for a few days and have some mild intestinal upset. All in all you'll alright.

If, however, you were prescribed a stronger opiate, seek professional help, that is, ask your doctor.
