Question about prescription painkillers...?

i never fully understood why people like painkillers so much. has any body ever tried these or were precribed these. what happend. also is it possible to have a bad trip.

ok "cynthia" i didnt ask this question to be stupid and if its such a stupid question why did you take the time to read and answer it

For the best answer, you need to contact - Rush Limbaugh!

As far as the bad trip goes, they decrease your body's respiratory drive if you take too many, meaning you would not breath. This could kill you. I would think that would be a bad trip.

They are to be taken for severe or chronic pain, not abused for a buzz..
Its the jerks who use them to get high on who ruin the availability for the people who actually need them to live normal lives with medical issues..

Your online name is GOD. If you are GOD why are you asking stupid questions?

Painkillers don't give you a trip. Why so many people them is because they're usually opiates. It makes you feel relaxed, warm and fuzzy inside, and just pleasant overall. It's easy to see why celebrities get addicted to vicodin etc.

Well one, you are not taking pain killers for a trip. The pain killers are prescribed to releive pain. If taken correctly they should not cause dependency.

I dont understand what you mean by "trip". Pain killers make your pain go away, and make you sleepy. It has nothing to do with a "trip"
I am a cancer nurse and have given bizillions of pain medications.

I dont think they work as good as everyone says. tried Darvocet & percocet. they are'nt too good. Take Two Vicodin and a beer or two to kill lower back pain when it flares up.

I take Lortab for a bad back & neck injury from a car accident. You have to be very careful because most prescription pain killers are very addictive. Mine make me sleepy. I guess you could have a bad trip if taken incorrectly or mixed with alcohol.

Ive done a few, never tripped on any though just kinda buzzes you. There all right but there's a lot better stuff out their though like even just good-ol bud.

you take pain killers cause it hurts...fact is if you use it for a "trip" you're probably using other drugs too

What kind of painkiller?

Many opiods are split with acetamenophen (Tylonol.) In high doses, this is detremental on the liver. If you want to use these pills recreationally, it's good to preform a cold water extraction. Hydrocodone/Codeine/Oxycodone are soluable in water, while acetaminophen isn't. (Blah, google cold water extraction.)

Anyway, painkillers do not make you 'trip'. It's a general mood lift. Euphoric/warm sort of feeling. You may get abit nauseous/itchy afterwards.

Pain killers have a very real use...but not as a toy or recreational drug. Here is my findings about these things that I have had to use:
Ibuprofen: great at relieving most pain, take up to 800 mg per 8 hours ...2400 per day max. Gets rid of pain AND inflamation, is a "blood thinner and can slow down clotting...do not use for 10 days prior to any surgery. Can be hard on those with liver problems.
Acetominifin: Good at getting rid of mild pain, and fever, but is not antiinflamatory. Very hard on liver, and overdoses can kill...but it is a slow, painful death...damages liver to point of non-recovery, OD's on this stuff can take up to two weeks to work their deadly results. Good to use alternating with Ibuprofen. Watch out if you take Vicodon or Percocet...both these have acetominifin in them already..you can OD by accident.
Vicodon...codiene and acetominifen...usually takes two pills for the first dose, then 1 per 6-8 hours to control severe pain. Will make you 'zone' if you are not used to it...make you very drowsy. Danger of this one is : in those who have reactions to codiene, can cause brain swelling and cause generalized headache. This drug is habit forming if abused.
Percocet...about the same as vicodon
Oxycodiene: very similar to Vicodon, slightly different compound..works on those who become immune to Vicodon..for a while, but can give headaches like vicodon.
Oxycontine: Very powerful pain killer, very addictive, very "trip-like' reactions...NOT TO BE messed with unless you have no other way to control extreme pain...this is NOT a toy.
Morphine: Extremely powerful pain reliever, make user take trip on a pink cloud, very habit forming, very expensive, prescribed only for those in extreme pain or terminal condition...usually administered by drip.
Hope this helps. None of these drugs are meant for recreation. All of these drugs are depressants, not uppers. If you want to go to sleep, then just go to bed.
