My friend gave me some painkillers. I need to know what they are????

I hurt my foot on Saturday night. My friend gave me some painkillers, they are capsuls, half white, half a light yellow color. They say ethex 041 on them Does anyone know what they are???

I know I'm not supposed to take someone elses medicine. I don't have insurance right now, and I'm not allergic to anything. I would like a REAL answer please.

Taking them as directed (1) they can be harmless as long as you aren't allergic or something, but abused they can be harmful. So as buddahsgirl said above, please use them responsibly.

Dear, what your friend did was ILLEGAL! No one is supposed to give another person painkillers unless they are a MEDICAL DOCTOR! You don't take meds from someone else, expecially when you have no idea what they are! Wake up! Get to the doctor, or just take some Tylenol.

Found it! It is Oxycodone Hydrochloride. It is a painkiller. You can get all you need at the website I'm including here. Hope you feel better......

do not EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER take a narcotic without the direction of a physician, PERIOD. Not only is it illegal (felony), but it is EXTREMELY dangerous. People saying that they are safe, or advising you to take them really have no idea what they are talkign about.

Narcotics are serious drugs, with MAJOR side effects and addictive potential. It would be extremely foolish to take ANY pill that someone just gave you, let alone a narcotic.
