Information on what happens when you overdose on painkillers?

Okay, so first off I am NOT suicidal, for you ignorant people who jump to conclusions.

What I need to know is...if you overdose of painkillers...(Like Tylanol), what happens?

What I need to know this for...I am writing a story for school, and the character in it is abused by her father, and now she is suicidal and goes for a bottle of painkillers to die. She's not going to end up dying, because her best friend is going to run in and find her then take her to the hospital...

But, I didn't want to start writing that part until I have information on it, so I don't sound stupid, you know? So, if any people can give me information on what happens, so I know how to descripe it when her friend finds her....and what the doctors do, so she will live.

Thanks so much!

Oh, and please don't use any huge medical words, that way it is easy to understand. ;)

Thanks again loves.

Peace and Pixiedust,
KENZIE!

I overdosed 2ish years ago. I took alcohol with the painkillers though, so do bare that in mind.
I become very tired, all I wanted to do was sleep, I got very hot and threw up a few times. My head spun and my vision was blurry and distorted. Then, I just collapsed and went unconscious, I was in the hospital by then though. My sister dragged me there when she found me. Although, tbh I didn't really care about the symptoms, I liked them because I knew it meant I was dying. Which, at the time, was all I wanted to do. Getting my stomach pumped was the worst though, it hurt like hell and was so uncomfortable.
In your story, make sure to emphasize on your characters wish to die, because that's all the person cares about when they are attempting suicide.
I'm better now though, therapy and a life change sorted that out.

Did you actually say "Peace and Pixiedust"?

Whoa.

Simply put,,,,,the hospital would give you a form of charcol and you would be ok after a few hours.

First of all, most of the time when people overdose whether accidental or not they die. Look at Heath Ledger. An unfortunate accidental overdose. But if the person doesn't die from an overdose, I believe the are passed out almost in a coma state. I hope this helps.

you will here ringing in your ears that is the first sing

Symptoms of an Tylenol overdose include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, sweating, seizures, confusion, and an irregular heartbeat.

a girl i knew took o/d of paracetamol and ended up a vegetable for twelve years before dying, i think it was a cry for help gone wrong so make sure the friend gets there in time xx

If you're writing this for school, I honestly think your teacher is going to get a bit suspicious, and think that you have serious problems, especially if you're a high school student. I might consider revising the topic.
