Help! Accidentally mixed some caffeine with painkillers!?

Hi, my sister recently got wisdom teeth removed and was given painkillers (acetaminophen and codeine) and accidentally drank (I'm guessing AT MOST 4-6 cups of green tea but with the same tea bag) and we're really worried if this can lead to liver damage right away or anything serious quickly. She's only experiencing stomach pains at the moment but I'm still very worried! Thanks for any advice!

Green tea has a low caffiene content, many over the counter pain meds add caffiene to acetaminophen.I don't see this as a problem. The stomach pain may be from the codeine.A bigger problem would be alcohol with the pills

ive never heard not to mix the two

Who knows if the two are related but to be sure...call the emergency room and ask!

You can mix caffeine and paracetamol. A lot of painkillers contain it anyway..Especially flu medication :)
Tablets that contain paracetamol and caffeine off the top of my head are Syndol and anadin.

So don't worry no damage done! x

It is safe to mix caffeine and paracetamol and codeine together . there is no evidence it has any effect . the most likely cause of your sisters stomach pain is maybe a reaction to the codeine as codeine can give you constipation and stomach pain . consult your gp or local A&E if the pain gets worse . Try and miss a dose if the pain isnt bad to see if the symptoms resolve .

good luck

Go to the ER now, this is a caffeine overdose.
