I have chronic pain. Can I have a prescription for painkillers?

I had a car accident two years ago and since then I have had chronic pain on my neck. (It seems like muscle pain) And I started having emotional pain a year ago. Combined with my chronic pain, the pain prevents me from relaxing and sleeping. Can I get a prescription for painkillers? I am a vet and I can get the medications for free from my VA clinic.

When people take pain killers for their chronic pain, it is really just "masking" the problem. It takes away the pain momentarily, but it never takes away the cause of the pain. If you really want results and would rather live a life without chronic pain, then I'd recommend you look up a "Osteopathic Physician", so many people I know have gone to one of these physicians, and time after time I've heard nothing but permanent positive results.

It's your choice completely.

Your doctor would have to give them to you or try the gnc for natural pain relievers.

Sure, here ya go. Dude, if you can get them, get them. It sounds like you may need a little help now, huh?? Good luck.

dont just take medcine make sure u get to the doctor asap.. get checked out.. it could be something even more serious then you think.

If you have chronic pain- you can have pain meds. but beware because dr.s usually faces a lot of pain med junkies...

They usually perscribe vicodin, darvocet, or mobic. talk to your dr. and good luck

talk to your dr about it.. if you are having emotional trouble, they will give you a med for that, if u are having trouble sleeping, chances are u will end up with ambian instead of pain med..

You shouldn't become reliant upon painkillers no matter how chronic the pain has become, You should go to a chiropractor for your neck..and EMOTIONAL pain cant be fixed with a pill...

that would be for your doctor to decide. might try seeing a chiropractor for the neck pain, though.

you should ask one of the doctors at the clinic, they might run some test, and as for the emotional you should really talk to someone when you go in for the exam for your neck talk to them about your emotional problems their doctors and nurses they'll be able to help you

You need a muscle relaxer and a good masseuse. You may have Fibromyalgia. Look it up and do some reading. It can be brought on by Things that you have experienced in your military career. They have medication for it. Good Luck

I suggest you undergo Acupressure (Alternative medicine) or Acupuncture which will be more help than the Medicines which will be a temporary relief. Violeni Gel is a good pain reliever

you can get pain meds for it. but you probably have whip-lash. you can get treated by a chiropractor and get healed. there are some herbs that can help if you want. you can contact me about them, my info is free. contact info: widowmaker54@yahoo.com

if it is documented and you have been seeing a doctor regularly the you should ask about getting a fentynl patch it is applied to you skin and change every 3 days this releases the medication on a cont basis if not try a chiropractor they preform miracles the VA will pay for them
