Strongest pain relievers without Codien??

Im allergic to codien and vicoden. so im trying to research pain medication. When I try and ask my docter these things they end up giving me the weakest stuff. (I.E. Tylonal for a broken bone!). And now i have ultracet for my mono when my throat is swollen shut. Anyone know of any strong pain medications that does not have codien in it?

There are several Schedule ll narcotics without codeine but are opiates. These are for sever pain only. One is Diliaudid...what my parent's doctor described as the closest thing to heroin in the US....my mom used it for cancer pain.

I take hydrocodone 500 and Im allergic to codine...Its good and I have no bad side effects from it

hydrocodone is the same thing as vicodin. have you tried percocet? I got percocet after a knee surgery, and it worked very well. I didn't have any problems at all.

try advil ( 200 mg. naproxen ) 2 times a day, morning & bedtime

there are other pills like morphine tabs, but mono or not the doctors are most likely not going to give you very strong narcotics (controlled substances) for a simple sore throat, cruel a it may sound to you. They may however, give you steroids (prednisone) which can help you decrease swelling, and as side benefit decrease the pain.

tramadol hydrachloride.
