What pain chronic pain relievers can u use if allegic to codeine?

I am allergic to codeine and hydrocodone. Can someone suggest a long term pain reliever that may work?

ask your doctor about gabapentin or tramadol.

there are many non-narcotic pain relievers worth a shot. one that is not derived from an opiate would be your best bet.

Demerol, Percocet , Vicodin, etc could possible give you a reaction if you are alergic to hydrocodone and codiene type drugs.

No one is allergic to that 'green'. Thats all the pain reliever you'll need.

Dilaudid (synthetic Morthine) should help you. Also see a doctor who specializes in pain medicine.

percocet,vicodin.

I am wondering what kind of pain you have and if you've ever been evaluated by a pain clinic or doctor. They would be the ones to determine what kind of pain reliever would work best for you and be the safest to use. There are duragesic patches that are used quite a lot for chronic pain; they contain a strong pain reliever called fentanyl which is absorbed slowly through the skin. They are usually changed about every three days.

weed? synthetic morphine, he wants to get rid of chronic pain NOT trip out, as a sufferer of chronic pain myself, i would suggest tramidol, its a non narcotic pain releaver that doesnt get you stoned, it gets rid of the pain. also a positivve thing with this drug is, its not addictive, and once you ahve used it for a while you will also be able to control the pain mentally withotu drugs,

demerol..I think thats how you spell it.

There are alot of pain meds out there that do not contain codeine or hydrocodone. First thing you need to do is get to a good pain clinic.............these doctors will know what to give you. I suffer from chronic pain due to severe scoliosis. I had to end up getting my lumber fused. I take Lortab but they have given me much more stronger meds like: Percocet, Fentynal patch which are stronger than morphine and will definitely take the pain away, also morphine or demerol.........i don't think any of these contain the things you are allergic to...............good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like you'd have trouble with a lot of the meds that have been suggested as the majority of them are opiates, the same 'family' as codeine.

The best way to find a form of pain management is under the supervision of a medical professional. That said though, I'd suggest you take 600mg of ibuprofen three times a day, provided you dont have stomach problems, suffer from severe asthma, or take other medications that may interact. This is why a doctor is best to recommend medications, they have your history in front of them.

I hope you find something soon, good luck!

I'd see a pain specialist about it. Tell him what you are allergic to. There is a new chronic pain drug out there called Suboxone, it doesn't make you high but it is a non-opiate class 2 narcotic. There are also several non-opiate pain relievers out there.

vicodin or norco

lets see, zydone or demerol
