Dull chest pain with intermittent sharp chest pain lasting a few seconds each time...?

I'm 30 y.o.I'm asthmatic and have been diagnosed of having a slight MVP a few years back.

Since yesterday morning i 've been having chest pain. Its a dull pain concentrated in one area with intermittent sharp chest pain lasting a few seconds each time and the location of this kind of pain is sometimes on either left or right side of the chest or where the dull pain is. I've had this kind of problem before but i didn't consult a doctor since it went away after two days. But today, I went to see a cardio and had an EKG. So far the doctor said everything is normal. But i still have to get an executive panel test and have an exercise stress echo. What i want to know is what is causing the chest pain since my cardio doctor didnt say anything about it yet.

He does not know yet. Reduced oxygen from asthma may be the cause. It can also be heart related, but not very likely at your age.

The EKG must have been normal. It would show an electrical problem from damaged tissue if you had had a heart attack.

He also listened to your heart with a stethoscope, and it must have sounded OK.

The stress echo will let him watch the muscle movement and valves. He may request an angiogram after that to see the arteries, or a radiographic stress test for the same thing.

Sounds to me like intermittent spasms near partially blocked arteries. I get them a lot since I have badly blocked arteries. I use a nitro spray to relieve it, helps relax the arteries.

Eat a healthier diet, cut way back on anything fatty or oily.
More green tea, more fruit, especially berries. Both good with or after meals . Eat smaller meals. Reduce or eliminate dairy products.

I had shortness of breath and chest pain from infected valve and strained valve, but while I had blocked arteries. The blocked arteries were the cause of pain. I later needed an emergency triple bypass, after I began having unstable angina, and my angiogram showed 99%, 99%, and 80% blockages.

When you have a stress test it will reveal more than any other test. I passed all heart test but when I took stress test they admited me to the hospital. After doing a heart catheration they found I had blockage. Schedueled me for surgery, had a 7 bypas operation,. was NO indacation of blockage till stress test was done. Good luck.

im 14 and i am asthmatic too. and i get pains like you describe in my chest to. but i have never gone to the doctor. and my feey dont swell. so good luck!

I suffer from a condition in where I carry my stress in my chest. It causes dull and sharp paid sometimes so painful i have to stop what I'm doing. I was told to take my fingers and press hard starting at the top of my breast bone and walking them down to my naval, and to try to relax in silence for a half an hour a day. It has really worked. But it did feel like I was having a heart attack, and I'm only 26. Associated systemic features, especially fever, night sweats, weight loss, weakness, and edema, provide important clues pointing to the heart usually.
