Slight chest pain - right hand side?
I have a very slight chest pain & back pain which first started about 3 days ago, it doesn't seem to hurt more when i breath in and out.. its on the right hand side of my chest under my rib cage, its hard to pin point exactly where its coming from.

It seems to come and go, its not really painful just more uncomfortable. Im 20 years old.

im also burping a lot, when i burp it seems to releif the pain a bit... its only very slight pain though.. feels almost like pressure

it could be gastrointestinal or it could be gall bladder although GB is very very painful ( I just had the surgery) try some mylanta or tums and see if that helps. If the pain doesn't subside or gets worse, get to your doc. GB is much more severe and can affect your liver but gastro is just bothersome..

Poke around a bit just under your ribs. If the pain intensifies you may have or have begun a stomach ulcer. That goes with the burping.

Family history, being around other people with ulcers, being nervous or under stress could be causes.

Try some antacids or something like Tagamet to relieve acidity, Most of all, eat a light dinner and no snacking or alcohol before bed.

You're young so I don't think it's heart trouble or a hernia.

If it worsens, get into an M.D. for sure.

You could possibly be experiencing gastric reflux or simple indigestion. If the pain comes in relation to your eating fatty or spicy foods, it could be your gallbladder. Try some over the counter heartburn relief products and see if they help. If not, see your doctor for further testing.
