Chest pain, please someone help.....? |
Hi, please can someone help me...I'm sitting here in tears....A few days ago I got a really bad stomach bug with sickness and diarrhea for at least 8 hours, I felt pretty bad the next day, all my muscles seemed to be cramping and I was really cold and tired. I started to get chest pain, just under my left breast about 11pm, went to bed and woke at about 3am in agony with horrendous pain in my chest and down my left arm. I saw the doc yesterday who said it was probably a viral pain and not to worry...but I am, the pain is still there, not as bad like a dull ache that gets worse when I move about, I also feel dizzy and weak...i have two little kids and my partner works away from home so I am really concerned about being able to look after them properly as I am so tired...am I stressing over nothing, has anyone heard of chest pain after a virus, or do you think I should get a second opinion? I am 25. there are 80 some things that can cause chest pain that have nothing to do with the heart. My husbands was caused by an ear infection. when infection was gone so was chest pain. Hang in there and don't dehydrate as that will make it worse. u may have the flu, athsma, or there could be something wrong with you heart. i woul go to another doctor and get a second opinion if u can. go get another opinion and also relax and try to destress sometimes when I get pains like that stressing makes it worse. Go get an EKG or an ultrasound of your heart tell your doctor that you another test done or many tests done to make sure you are ok....always question your doctor. they dont know everything-and sometimes they miss something or overlook something. Tell them you are very concerned and you want something done right away. I would say that doesn't sound too good. Chest pain and down the arm probably requires more attention. A second opinion wouldn't hurt. I am no expert but had similar issues not as serious and I got all sorts of tests...Actually a friend of mine is in the medical field let me ask him for his opinion on this just so we all learn here... In the meantime, again, before everyone jumps on me....I would definitely see another expert. Take care of yourself for the little ones and good luck. If the doctor ran an EKG and it was ok, then you probably are . Viral pain like this causes Pleurisy. THat is the chest pain you are having. Plenty of fluids and ibuprofen and you should be ok. Change your Doctor Fast. |
