Chest Pain, I'm young?

I'm having chest tightness and pain. I've recently had an EKG that was abnormal, I'm 22 and they said it was normally found in 60+ year olds. I have to wait until next week to get my ECG Bubble Test to determine exactly what the problem is and how to fix it.

I've been complaining the last 2 months to my doctor of heart palpitations, dizziness and lightheadedness. They hooked me up to a Holter Monitor but I do not know the results of that yet either.

I went into the ER the other night, because I was having chest pains and tightness. I've never had a heart attack lol, so wasn't sure if I should let it go or get it checked out anyway. They did a chest xray and some blood work...and all came out fine. Suggested that I still have the ECG done, but couldn't do anything more for me. I'm still having chest pain, it's very umcomfortable but am not sure what to do? It's right in the middle of my chest, isn't heartburn, and feels like someone is just pushing their fist into me.

Did you know that anxiety attacks sometimes triggers the same kinds of pathological responses that a heart attack does? But the difference between an anxiety attack and a heart attack is that an anxiety attack won't kill you, but a heart attack would.

Palpitations, dizziness and lightheadedness can also be caused by excessive stress, genetic deficiences, blood chemistry, even anemia. Sometime ago (about 3 yrs ago), I suffered an attack of trachycardia -- abnormally high heart beat rate, for which I was hospitalized for 3 days. I experienced the same symptoms as yours, though I did feel nauseous and dizzy as well. I felt as if time had become suddenly warped, but I was aware of what I was going through. There was a detached sense that something was happening but wasn't quite sure what. Pathological reports suggested it may have been something I had eaten or maybe even stress. One even went so far as to suggest I had overdosed on sleeping pills! That, however, wasn't the case.

Bottomline is, I've experienced anxiety attacks before and came close to a heart attack as well. I know what it feels like to go through both. And yes, I'm young as well. I was 25 when I had that attack.

I don't know what to say because I'm no docter, I had chest pain when younger but only sometimes, like a sting near my heart, disappeared gradually in several minutes, haven't had it for a few years now.
I wish you the best and for the time being I suggest you take asperin or tylenol but check with your doctor first of course.

I have heart problems but I'm 45.
45 is also young for heart problems.
But they can occur at any age.
Or you could have been born with a heart defect.
And didn't realize it till now.
I hope nothing is seriously wrong with you.
Don't bluff this off, Do everything the doc. says
I'll keep you in my prayers.

If you have had an abormal EKG and are having chest pains I would immediately go to the hospital Emergency Room. It may just be tension/anxiety induced tightness from worry about this abnormality but it is best to `get a Doctors opinion, besides they will probably give you another EKG there so confirm or deny the original one.

Good luck, good health, peace and love!

Call your doctor and see if you can get the results sooner.

Go to the hospital when you do not feel well or are having chest pains. You are better off going and finding out that there is not problems than not going and finding out that there is a problem.

Get your results, get an echo, press your MD for answers. If you aren't getting the answers you need, keep looking. See a GI to see if the pain is gastrointestinal rather than cardiac. Keep an eye on your BP. Get thyroid checked- it can cause heart related symptoms. Get a thourough blood work-up done...if necessary a diagnostic cardiac cath.

Congenital defect could also be cause of problem. There's a defect that causes collateral pathways to conduct the electrical current differently (Wolff-Parkinsons-White Syndrome) and is most frequently seen in young adults (treated with radioablation of collaterals).

Definitely check out the anxiety angle. Stress is a *****.

You have been to the Doctors.... and if they have not found you to have a heart condition.... it is obviously a state that is yet to manifest into a "disease" state.
You need to know the root cause of your illness.
I suggest you read up into the factors that lead to heart ailments or any disease for that matter.

Just because you are 22 does not safeguard you form any disease, it may be just that yu are looking for the wrong thing or in the wrong place.

Acidity is known to create head aches... and the problem is not the head.... you see what I mean.

Read www.helthsolns.com to know more about possible triggers and solutions too.

To begin with, detox, relax, unburden your digestive track and pump yourself with natural nutrients to help your body cope with the problem. keep a positive attitude, it hepls in more ways than you can imagine.

Hang in there, if the Doc's have not put yu into the ICU or CCU; there is great hope for yu !!
