I have been having dry, itchy, chapped skin around my nipples and the surrounding areas. I have an apt next month to see my GYNO, however, I was reading online and came across Paget's disease of the nipple.
Does anyone know if that affects both breasts? Because both are equally itchy and chapped.
And does anyone know if it can be anything else besides cancer? I never had this before. Im 25, and my fathers sister had breast cancer at 59, although im sure that menas nothing for me. It could be an allergic reaction. Have you started using a new laundry detergent or softener? Are you using different soap, body lotion, perfume or body splash? Are you wearing a new bra, or one that is made from a material different from your old bra?
It could also be a yeast infection. Women can get them under their breasts. You can try to do a quick Internet search to see if your rash looks similar to a breast yeast infection.
I don't know if Paget's disease shows up on both breasts, but I've heard that it usually manifests as something that looks like a spider bite.

You can always try calling them to find out if they have a cancellation. the cold is probably your promble, or the type of soap you use could be causing it alot of peoples skin goes crazy in the winter try a good moistering lotion are you breast feeding???? That could be the cause. Otherwise make sure you aren't using strong soaps or very hot water in the shower, and use a gentle moisturizer without scent, and definately keep that doctors appointment. I don't think Paget's disease affects both sides equally, and I think it's pretty rare also. |
