PTSD from father's death--what are the symptoms?

My roommate speculates that I may be suffering from PTSD relating to my father's death. I'm having trouble finding information on this topic because most PTSD relates to soldiers in combat or people who suffered sexual abuse as a child.
When I moved back home after college, my father was diagnosed with cancer. For the next year, as I lived at home, he was battling cancer. During that period, my grandfather died unexpectedly after a fall. After that was when my father's heath went downhill. I was there for his entire decline and his death at the hospital (late september).
But it seems that this time of year (when he started to go downhill), I sort of break down mentally, for no tangible reason. I go into a deep depression, my OCD gets out of control, I have anxiety attacks. Other symptoms my roommate noted--avoidance of movies relating to father/daughter bonds, avoidance of relationships, flashbacks of his death, volitile personality,
out of room..what can you all tell me?

This is normal. It's a grieving process. 27 years after my fathers planes crash when the date rolls around, or a I see another plane crash....or i watch a crash movie....i relieve the grief all over again. Nothing gets better immediately. It will be as bad and difficult as you make it. See a therapist and stay in communication with your support systems. There is no fix it for this. It's not PTSD.

The best way to find information about the symtoms of POST is go to the follwing websites www.medlinepuls.com or webmd.com that, will help you find the symptoms and the best treatment for it or go to www.zoloft.com it will give you some infor there as well take care and God bless i wish you well

yes you have many symptoms, what you
were describing were events which trigger the core
event....also its not just about your dad, you're
also anxious about life and especially about your own possible death
