Soldiers suffering from PTSD?

I am doing a high school senior exit project on the topic of PTSD. I need to find someone to interview who is a soldier/veteran who is suffering from PTSD or a doctor who treats the disorder mainly in veterans. I haven't figured out what exact questions I'm going to ask yet. They will probably be:

Who is most likely to suffer from it
How is it dealt with in daily life
How has it affected your life
How is it treated

If you are willing to help me out, please respond to this question and include how PTSD relates to you along with your e-mail (if you feel comfortable enough).
Thank you soo much!!

My dad has PTSD from a war in the early 90s..

1.people who are most likely to suffer from it are the ones who have an underlying illness (depression)..Not all people who've been though a same trauma get PTSD. Ex.( concentration camp survivors, POWs)
2. medication helps a lot! it goes away after a few weeks on medication...but PTSD episode can be triggered at any time..even years and years after the event.
3. It's really sad for me to watch my dad go through the horrible symptoms of paranoia and delusions. The worst part is that when they are in that state of mind...you can't reason with them..sometimes they'll refuse to take medication if they don't trust people around them...it's almost like schizophrenia.
4.My dad is taking Zyprexa for delusions...and Paxil for depression and panic attacks..

...He's doing well now the most important thing a person with PTSD needs to know is: that they have this illness and it is treatable..especially b/c it can be triggered again they need to know that it's all in their head..

I hope this helps :)

Hey I have mild PTSD, not from combat but from an illness i sufered. I dont know if that would be good for your project or not as its not that common to have post traumatic stress from illnesses. But i can tell you it is very life disabling and like nothing you can explain. I do not get flash-backs but i do get alot of syptoms of confusion, being in a daze and randomly feeling fearful. I had a delayed responce, as i recoverd from my illness (M.E) after two years on some medication and then 6 months after returning back to normal life i had a sort of mental break down and was diagnosed with mild PTSD. Its very hard as alot of people dont understand it. Athough i'm still not fully recoverd, i am getting better.
