PTSD sufferers--How do you function without being bitter and resentful? See more. . .?

How do you function without being bitter and resentful when the stuff that traumatized you happened all at once versus over a time span and there was more than one thing that traumatized you? Do you ever get to where you trust people again? Do you ever get to where you can hold a job again? When does the stuff stop? How do you deal with people who blame you for what happened to you? How do you live a normal life when there's so much against you? I ask because I was just recently diagnosed as having PTSD and I don't understand this stuff that well yet. Serious answers only please.

I was diagnosed a very long time ago... my trauma history is a long one... I am 37 now, have child hood, teen, and early adult trauma.
I still don't trust people.... Even ones that have been in my life for years... I don't have a job, I am on disability, I have one friend-who I consistently throw out of my life. I wish I had more friends, but I cannot risk it... I don't have anyone blaming me for what has happened in my life--except myself, I always think "if only I did this" "if only I didn't go there" etc. I am the one that holds my life back.. FEAR, I live in a state of fear... it rules my existence.
I wish I had a more positive post for you... but I don't want to lie.

since you just got diagnosed, you must already be receiving therapy for this. there's a process to it and you will be able to answer these questions in due time according to your own mental state. i think you should let the therapy take its course before reaching any conclusions about things. you have such strong emotions that only a professional should be giving you advice on this for now.
