PTSD is it possible to never remember the incident fully? |
Hi, If it truly happened to you than on some level you know it. What you have to decide is do you want to really deal with what has happened to you?? IF you do than you need to go back to therapy and really get down to the real reason that you're having trouble. It will take a while and it will be painful and there will be times when you'll wonder if it will be worth it. At some level, you know what happened to you. The mind is kind - it keeps overwhelming things out of consciousness, if possible. You may or may not remember all that happened to you. That's actually not that important. What's important is that you learn to identify and deal with your emotions, and learn to live in your body, as present as possible, letting go of old feelings and old beliefs as you heal. Yeah you could, you could have suppresed it like Freud said. it's weird that even though you don't remember it you know it was sexual abuse. |
