What happened if always chewing the gum that be cautious for PKU disease?

PKU stands for phenylketonuria which is an inborn error of metabolism of phenylalanines contained as an artificial sweetener in chewing gums. Nothing will happen if you don't have phenylketonuria. The disease is usually detected in newborns thru the newborn screening test.
