I might have PID, will i have to get a hysterectomy? |
so i might have PID, I'm 18 years old and sexually active. However, the last time i had sex is when i was 16 [it was protected]. I had really bad pain on my left side and by my "lady organs" [2 days ago] i feel something swollen. I'm not jumping the gun and saying it is PID or whatever but i am going to go to the doctor and get it checked out. I dont know if i have chlamydia or gono or whatever. I know those are curable and i know all of the info about PID and ecoptic pregnancies. It's just on the left side or that's at least the only place where i feel swollen.. What do you think it is? Okay, so it might just be cysts forming in the tubes...? You might not have to have surgery. My friend had a cysts there and it was swollen and they gave her meds and 2 yrs later she had a beautiful baby girl!!! If it is a cyst it can be treated with birth control pills and other things, if it's PID or an STD most likely they will just give you antibiotics. Hysterectomies are a last resort for anything, especially for someone so young. If your pain is primarily on one side, it's unlikely you have PID... PID is usually a throbbing type pain that radiates across your entire pelvic area. |
