Chlaymidia and PID? When should one suspect PID?

I'm 19,sexually active since 17. I've had two boyfriends, the first for 3 mos. after my 17th bday, about 3 times unprotected. 3 days ago I found out I had chlamydia (on doxycycline) and he is neg. So it had to come from my 1st(so I've had it for 2 yrs) . Since we've been having unprotected sex for this long, I'm now worried about infertility. If I am I know it could be permanent: pid, or temp:increased white blood cells in the vagina/cervix(which I do have) that kill sperm, and/or cervicitis. How long would it take for chlamydia to develop into PID( an estimate?). I have no symptoms of PID or. Has anyone had chlamydia and not been able to conceive because of the disease, solely? My understanding is that the disease itself will not prevent conception unless it has already done irreparable damage to the immune system. I'm so confused (and I'm sure this question is too, sorry!), if anyone has any answers/experiences, ANYTHING remotely related to my situation, I would really appreciate it.

**no symptoms of pid or cervicitis

If you have no symptoms and are being treated, you should be ok. Chlaymidia is curable. So as long as you don't keep reacquiring the disease, you should be ok from PID due to chlaymidia.

so long as you are getting treatment , i think you are good ...stay safe

Probably you are ok. Chlamydia is a pretty low-impact bug although it can lead to problems.

Your biggest concern would be ectopic pregnancy if your tubes are scarred up.

The female reproductive system is pretty tough. I wouldn't worry too much about infertility. But you have to keep an eye on yourself for the rest of your fertile life. Any pain down there should be investigated.
