PID question?

does anyone know where and how you can find out if you have PID...because i dont think the public health centers test or treat people if they do have it.so if anyone has answers please inform me

PID is a complex syndrome that is casused by infection of the cervix, uterus and falopian tubes with a variety of bacteria. Many are STD bacteria that invade deeper parts of the pelvis. When PID progresses, other bacteria can become involved (those from the colon). Women with many bouts of PID can have PID without the STD because of the dammage to the tubes and uterus.

The diagnosis is usually make clinically. If a woman has fever, pelvic pain and tenderness when the cervix is touched, they often have PID (especially if the history is compatible - new sex partner, many sex partners, previous history of PID). If a woman has a new diagnosis of an STI with a lot of pain in the pelvis, that usually means PID. Sometimes tests like an ultrasound or CT scan can show an abscess in the pelvis that proves PID, but this is usually not the case.

PID is dangerous. It can come from having an std that has not been treated. When you get your period it should be pink in color, abdominal pain, long irregular periods and fever. It hurt so much when you walk you feel like you are going to die. The only way to get rid of this feeling is to ball up in your own lap. If you make too much movement your in pain again.This disease is nothing to play with. Call planning parenthood, a clinic or a local doctor. Tell them you think you have P.I.D. If you are under age and in a remote area ask a friend to take up for you and see a doctor asap. You don't want it to get bad to the point where it causes long term damage.
