Lots of questions on PID, and i NEED HELP! PLEASE!?

Well, im only 16 but i think i have PID, i haven't experienced most of the symptoms but one and i think that i have it, im going to the gyno as soon as i can ... to make sure but i want to know (even though im young) can PID make you infertil once you get it?, what if you dont detect right away?, can you be infertil from PID and still have a chance of becoming pregant? and what if you never get treated? will it just go away?, is there any way of got rid of it your self?, is it permenate????

PID will not make you infertile if you get it treated right away. If it is not treated, it can cause scarring that can lead to infertility.

First of all, if you have any suspicion whatsoever, get to a doctor. Make a list of your symptoms and questions and he or she will give you all the info you need. Since you're 16, and I assume you have started menstruating, you should be going once a year anyway.

You're going to think this is too much info, and I'm not trying to scare you, but I wasn't much older than you when I had PID. I contracted an STD from my supposed long term boyfriend when I was 20 years old. I ignored my symptoms for MONTHS before I finally went to the doctor and was diagnosed with PID - a result of the disease I contracted from the BF and ignored. I was very sick for a long time and my recovery was slow. Now, my insides are very scarred and I have lots of problems, and because I haven't had any kids (not really tried) I have no idea if I'm infertile - but probably.

If I had gone to the doctor immediately, I probably wouldn't have such issues. Your situation might not be the same - I'm not saying you had an STD but usually when you develop PID, that's how it originates. You can still get PID though, even without contracting an STD. In all fairness you may have nothing more than a yeast infection or something. Before you scare yourself into thinking you definitely have it, see the top paragraph and get to a doctor. This week, if you can.

She's right, PID in and of itself cannot make you fertile but the scarring from infection can. Please see your doctor ASAP!
