Chronic PID? |
Ok so finally after 6 months of testing and finally surgery..I've been diagnosed with chronic PID. Now the doctor has stated that he's given me two of the most high doses of Meds to cure this and now states that there is nothing more to do than a Hysterectomy! This freaks me out since I am only 27 years old. I've had my child and dont want anymore...I already know that because of this PID that I'm not able to have anymore children. But I wonder if I go through with this partial hystorectomy....will I be on hormones for the rest of my life? Another thing that is bothering me is that I have very sore and tender breasts with nipple discharge on the right side! I'm very converned about this whole ordeal, but I finally have answers....does anyone have any advise for me? You need to have another opinion, I'm a surgical nurse and I have heard some scary stuff about hysterectomy, some MD will do a total, when it wasn't necessary to do one. I heard you're going to have a partial, it depends on what part of uterus/ovary they're going to take out, ask him if it's ok to spare one or all of your ovaries, because they're the ones making the hormones, without them, you'll have symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, dryness of vaginal canal and sometimes premature aging. |
