UTI, PID, pain HELP!???? |
Friday night I started getting lower abdominal pain. Very painful urination, enough to bring me to tears. Saturday morning I went to a walk in clinic. Told them I thought it was a UTI. They did the urine test, it came back negative. The Dr. said that I had all the classic symptoms of a UTI so he wanted to send the sample off for a culture, I guess to make sure there wasnt some unidentified bacteria? Anyways he also did a pelvic exam, my cervix was inflammed and I had slight tenderness on my left ovary. He said this looked like pelvic inflammitory disease, which I had when I was 16 (bacterial infection in my fallopian tubes) but he couldnt know for sure unless he did a culture and I am with out insurance and it was going to cost $300 dollars so I said I would just go to the health dept. Also I am not sure him telling me that it was PID was all correct... I was about to start my period and have had issues with cervical inflammation since I had my daughter. I understand that some women just do that around their periods and have discharge. Taking all the information you are providing, I would have to agree with your doctor about UTI or PID. I would probably give you the same advice your physician would which would be to continue the medication and contact him/her if either your condition worsened, or you are still getting pain at the end of the drug regiment. |
